Welcome to the iRun For Jonah 5K Run/Walk!
Pickerington High School Central Student Leadership Committee is planning the Eighth Annual iRun for Jonah 5K Walk/Run to benefit Allie Conover and family on May 13, 2017. The race will be held at Pickerington Central at 10am. Registration will begin at Pickerington Central at 8am or you may register online now.
This year we will have a 1 mile kids walk/run in addition to our 5K. It will be a fun experience for children and families. Some local mascots will even be coming out to join in the fun! The fun walk/run will also start at 10:00am.
T-shirts and registration are available online. You can click on the link under the “register and donate” tab to sign up and get your T-shirt now. Presale for T-shirts will end 1 week before the event so we can guarantee your size but there will be some for sale on the day of the event also.
This event was originally put together in the spring of 2010 to assist the family of Jonah Hoser (then a 6th grade student at Diley Middle School) to defray the expenses of a prolonged stay in the Cardiac ICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Based on the success of the original event, the school leadership along with the mutual agreement of the Hoser family has decided to continue this event annually in Jonah’s memory. A new family will be selected each year to be the benefactor.
About AllieOn November 18th, 2015 we took our 4 year old daughter, Allie, to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Emergency Room because she was having an odd crying spell. I worried that I was being ridiculous, she was probably just not feeling good. Right? Wrong! Following several days of tests, Allie was diagnosed with an Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF).
