Welcome to the iRun For Jonah 5K Run/Walk!
Pickerington High School Central Student Leadership Committee is planning the Ninth Annual iRun for Jonah 5K Walk/Run to benefit Dallas and family on May 19th, 2018. The race will be held at Ridgeview Junior High at 10am. Registration will begin at Ridgeview Junior High at 8am or you may register online now.
This year we will have a 1 mile kids walk/run in addition to our 5K. It will be a fun experience for children and families. The fun walk/run will also start at 10:00am.
T-shirts and registration are available online. You can click on the link under the “register and donate” tab to sign up and get your T-shirt now. Presale for T-shirts will end 1 week before the event so we can guarantee your size but there will be some for sale on the day of the event also.
This event was originally put together in the spring of 2010 to assist the family of Jonah Hoser (then a 6th grade student at Diley Middle School) to defray the expenses of a prolonged stay in the Cardiac ICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Based on the success of the original event, the school leadership along with the mutual agreement of the Hoser family has decided to continue this event annually in Jonah’s memory. A new family will be selected each year to be the benefactor.
Dallas was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was 3 years old which lead to the removal of 28 tumors. Another very serious tumor was found in March 2017 that Dallas is fighting today.
Who is Jonah Hoser?
Jonah Hoser was born with a severe congenital heart defect that required multiple open heart surgeries and eventually landed him on the transplant list at age 2. A week after his 4th birthday, Jonah received the Gift of Life of a new heart.
